CPO Ford San Antonio, TXBuying a used car is one of the best ways to save money, but these vehicles can also come with a risk. One of the best ways to minimize this risk is to purchase a certified pre-owned car. A CPO vehicle goes through a rigorous quality check to ensure that it is in excellent condition, and it comes with extra benefits. The Ford CPO program offers buyers a way to purchase a used vehicle with the security of an in-depth inspection. Here is a look at the Ford CPO Process.

The 172-Point inspection

Every Ford certified pre-owned car, SUV, and truck must pass a 172-point inspection before it can qualify. In order to become a part of the program, it has to be under six years old and have less than 80,000 miles on the odometer. The inspection process starts with a Carfax vehicle history report. It also includes a road test, an inspection of the exterior and interior condition and appearance, diagnostics, and an inspection under the hood and of all the underbody components. The technicians also look at the hybrid system if it has one and the convenience features.

Factory-Trained Technicians

Ford factory-trained technicians perform all of the inspections on every CPO vehicle. Any part that doesn’t meet the standards of the program will be replaced with a factory-authorized part.

The Comprehensive Limited Warranty

The limited warranty that comes with a certified pre-owned Ford covers over 1,000 different components for up to 12 months or 12,000 miles. Along with this warranty, you also get a 7-year 100,000-mile powertrain limited warranty. The comprehensive warranty covers the engine, transmission, front and rear-wheel drive, the brakes, suspension, and more.

The Powertrain Warranty

A powertrain warranty also comes with Ford CPO vehicles. It covers the transmission and engine and includes extras such as the option to transfer it to future owners. This benefit comes at no extra cost and incudes 24-hour roadside assistance with towing and jump-starts along with flat-tire changes and lockout services. The Ford Extended Service Plan is also part of this warranty with additional coverages.

The Carfax Report

Every Ford CPO vehicle gets a Carfax history report. This report checks for flood vehicles, fire damage, frame damage, and odometer issues. It will also provide information about the vehicle’s accident history and the title history.

Roadside Assistance

The complimentary roadside assistance provides towing of up to $100 for warranty and non-warranty problems. You can get reimbursed for travel expenses up to $500, for up to three days lodging, meals, and a rental vehicle if a breakdown happens over 100 miles from your home. The rental car reimbursement covers the cost of a vehicle up to $30 a day for up to five days. If you run out of gas, the roadside assistance program includes fuel delivery for up to two gallons at no charge, and the program also includes expense assistance up to $75 for emergency transportation to your immediate destination.

These are some of the many benefits you get when if you choose a Ford Certified Pre-Owned vehicle. It starts with a comprehensive inspection and includes many other perks and extras.
