The Ford F-150 is a full-size pickup truck that can fit any driver’s needs. Whether you need a truck with just the basics for work or a luxury vehicle for weekend getaways, you can find a trim that will work. The 2020 F-150 has just a few changes. The 3.0-liter PowerStroke V-6 is now available for the XLT, and Ford made the Co-Pilot360 suite standard starting with the Lariat. There is also a new STX Sport Appearance Package for the XL and a Black Appearance Package for the XLT and Lariat models. Here is all you need to know about the 2020 Ford F-150.

The base F-150 is the XL. It has 17-inch steel wheels, trailer connection wiring, and manual locks and windows. An FX4 Off-Road package is available for the all-wheel drive versions and adds skid plates and an off-road-tuned suspension. Stepping up from the XL to the XLT gets you power windows and door locks, power side mirrors, and a cargo management system. The Lariat adds 18-inch alloy wheels, a power-sliding rear window, and power-folding side mirrors. Bumping up to the King Ranch gets you a remote tailgate release and LED headlights, while the Raptor has an increased ride height, all-terrain tires, running boards, and skid plates.

The luxurious Platinum model comes with interior upgrades, power running boards, and 20-inch alloy wheels, and if you step up again to the Limited, it has 22-inch alloy wheels.

The Technology

The XLT gets the SYNC 3 infotainment system with an 8-inch touch screen display, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, FordPass Connect with a Wi-Fi hot spot, and a USB port. The King Ranch and above get a 110-volt power outlet, along with navigation and a Bang & Olufsen stereo.

The Cabin

Depending on the cab, the F-150 has room for up to six passengers. Taking a couple steps up to the Lariat adds comfort features such as heated and ventilated front seats and dual-zone automatic climate control, and it even has power-adjustable pedals with memory. The King Ranch adds a heated steering wheel and heated rear seats, and the Platinum adds a heated steering wheel.

The Power and Performance

The base engine for the F-150 is a 3.3-liter V-6 with 265 horsepower. It works with a 6-speed automatic transmission and comes standard with rear-wheel drive. An optional 2.7-liter turbo V-6 EcoBoost makes 325 horsepower, and a 3.5-liter EcoBoost will get 375 horsepower. For even more power, a 5.0-liter V-8 with 395 horsepower and 400 pound-feet of torque, and the most powerful option is a 3.5-liter V-6 for the Raptor and Limited. It gets 450 horsepower and 510 pound-feet of torque.

When equipped, the F-150 can tow up to 7,700 pounds with the base 3.3-liter V-6, and 8,500 pounds with the 2.7-liter. The engine with the most towing power is the 3.5-liter, and it can handle up to 13,200 pounds.
