2020 Ford Explorer | Jordan FordIn 2020, Ford’s popular SUV gets a makeover, but this won’t compromise its power or utility. With a variety of trim levels and performance options, the Explorer is at its best. Check out these top things to know about the 2020 Ford Explorer and you’ll be ready to see one in person.

  1. Enhanced Performance

Thanks to its redesign, the 2020 Ford Explorer now features multiple engine options, as well as a hybrid version. The Explorer Hybrid comes equipped with a 3.3-liter hybrid engine and has impressive off-road capabilities. Additionally, according to Ford, the Explorer Hybrid is the only hybrid in its class that has a towing capacity of up to 5,000 pounds. Aside from the hybrid version, the other Explorer models have a towing capacity of up to 5,600 pounds.

In addition to the hybrid engine, Explorers can sport either a 2.3-liter EcoBoost engine or a 3.0-liter EcoBoost engine, depending upon trim level. Higher-level trims come equipped with an available 3.0-liter EcoBoost twin-turbo V-6 engine and a 10-speed automatic transmission.

Kicking things up a notch, the ST trim level utilizes the 3.0-liter EcoBoost twin-turbo V-6 and a 10-speed automatic transmission. This ST engine is capable of a whopping 400 horsepower. Topping out at a speed of 143 miles per hour, it’s no secret that the 2020 Explorer ST is Ford’s most speedy and robust Explorer to date.

With seating for up to seven passengers, the Explorer is also capable of storing cargo for any trip. If the second- and third-row seats are folded down, the Explorer supplies approximately 87 cubic feet of cargo space behind the front seats. Additionally, the E-Z entry second-row seats make it a breeze for passengers to access the third-row seats.

Other interior features include an available twin panel moonroof, an available 12.3-inch digital instrument panel cluster, a top-of-the-line B and O sound system, and tri-zone climate control. Each of these features makes for a comfortable and relaxing ride.
