The Edge was the very first SUV from the Ford Performance team, and it was a force to be reckoned with straight out of the gate. The newly redesigned exterior, coupled with the myriad of performance options, makes the 2020 Ford Edge as stylish as it is fun to drive.
Smarts, Power, and Looks
The 2020 Ford Edge offers two available engines that provide plenty of power. There’s either a turbocharged, direct-injection twin-scroll 2.0-liter EcoBoost V-6 or a twin-turbo 2.7-liter EcoBoost V-6, which is the most powerful V-6 engine its class. These engines are built particularly to blend power, performance, and fuel efficiency for your demanding lifestyle.
To deliver a more responsive feel, the 2020 Edge has implemented revised electronic throttle programming and sharp engine braking to decelerate heading into a corner. Of course, part of the experience is the engine sound. The 2020 Edge features enhanced active noise control to provide a better auditory experience. Available cluster/paddle shifters in the ST model up the ante on the performance driving experience.
Blending Luxury and Style
The Titanium trim is the way to go to get the pampering you deserve. The interior features leather-wrapped steering wheel and perforated leather-trimmed bucket seats along with metal-plated accents, aluminum mechanical stripes, illuminated scuff plates, and ambient lighting. The exterior features chrome accents and bright beltline molding with standard 19-inch wheels and available 20-inch wheels. Also adding form and function is the rotary gear shift dial. Not only does this give a unique, desirable look, but it also has a smaller footprint than traditional gearshifts opening up room for cupholders, improved bin size, smart storage, and a convenient USB port.
Technology for Safety and Convenience
The 2020 Edge has Ford has Co-Pilot360 Technology that encompasses five standard driver-assist features. BLIS (Blind Spot Information System) with Cross-Traffic Alert helps determine if there’s a vehicle in your blind spot and alerts you if there is. Cross-Traffic alert lets you know if anything is crossing your path. A rearview camera allows you to have a great view behind you. The Lane-Keeping System scans your vehicle’s position between the road lines and alerts you if you begin to leave your lane. Pre-Collision Assist with Automatic Emergency Braking also alerts you to potential collisions ahead and can even brake automatically.
The 2020 Edge has auto high-beam headlamps, which will dim them in oncoming traffic and then reengage when the coast is clear. The Edge offers Enhanced Active Park Assist that allows you to activate it and then accelerate and brake while the vehicle handles the rest when it comes to parallel parking. Park Out Assist with the side-sensing capability helps you get out of a tight spot. Rounding out these features is voice-activated navigation.
