If you’re looking for a fuel-efficient vehicle that’s also fun to drive, you can’t go wrong with a Ford. Here are the top Ford models that will help you spend less time and money at the fuel pump.

2024 Edge

The 2024 Edge is a versatile SUV perfect for work and play. Lower trim levels come equipped with a twin-scroll 2.0-liter EcoBoost I-4 turbocharged engine featuring an output of 250 horsepower and 280 pound-feet of torque. This robust engine is also efficient, helping the Edge get up to 21 mpg in the city and 28 mpg on the highway. If you select the Edge ST, the lineup’s top trim, you can take advantage of a 2.7-liter EcoBoost V-6 that generates 335 horsepower and 380 pound-feet of torque. The ST gets up to 19 mpg in the city and 25 mpg on the highway.

In addition to its powerful and fuel-efficient engines, the Edge lineup provides an intelligent all-wheel-drive system that adjusts torque delivery depending on weather and driving conditions. The I-4 engine pairs with an eight-speed automatic transmission, while the V-6 teams up with a seven-speed automatic. Both systems ensure smooth acceleration and handling on-road and off. The Edge seats five and comes standard with Ford’s SYNC 4A infotainment center. Available amenities include a leather-trimmed 10-way power-adjustable driver’s seat, heating and cooling for the front seats, and ambient lighting.

2024 Mustang

The 2024 Mustang is surprisingly efficient for such a thrilling performance car, especially if you go with an EcoBoost model. The Mustang EcoBoost Fastback and the Mustang EcoBoost Convertible feature a 2.3-liter GTDI I-4 engine capable of producing 315 horsepower and 350 pound-feet of torque. The engine is equipped with port fuel and direct injection technology, helping the EcoBoost Fastback get up to 22 mpg in the city and 33 mpg on the highway. The EcoBoost Convertible gets up to 21 mpg in the city and 29 mpg on the highway.

An agile rear-wheel-drive system makes it easy to zip through traffic and conquer tight corners, while the 10-speed automatic transmission delivers quick yet smooth acceleration. Inside the 2024 Mustang, you’ll find seating for four and a SYNC 4 infotainment system featuring a 13.2-inch Centerstack touchscreen. Optional amenities include a six-way power-adjustable driver’s seat, heated front seats, and a nine-speaker sound system. You can also take advantage of pre-collision assist, a lane-keeping system, and rain-sensing windshield wipers.

2024 Maverick

The 2024 Maverick is a capable pickup truck available with a conventional gas engine or a hybrid powertrain. When equipped with the 2.0-liter gas EcoBoost engine, the Maverick puts out 250 horsepower and 277 pound-feet of torque, enabling a 2,000-pound towing capacity. Add the 4K Tow Package, and you can take advantage of a 4,000-pound towing capacity.

The hybrid Maverick can put out 191 horsepower and 155 pound-feet of torque and also tows up to 2,000 pounds. Hybrid models can get up to 42 mpg in the city and 33 mpg on the highway. Both versions of the Maverick seat five and come standard with an 8-inch LCD touchscreen center stack. Available amenities include dual-zone electronic automatic temperature control, wireless charging, and heated seats.

As you can see, there are several fuel-efficient vehicles in the Ford lineup. Take a test drive to decide which one is right for you.
