The 2023 Ford Bronco Sport is a compact SUV designed to handle both the narrow confines of city driving and the wide-open expanses of off-roading in the countryside. Meet the 2023 Ford Bronco Sport
The Bronco Sport is powered by a standard 1.5L turbocharged three-cylinder that is rated at 181 horsepower but can be upgraded to a 2L four-cylinder engine rated at 245 horsepower. While both engines come with automatic transmissions, the upgraded four-cylinder engine also comes with paddle shifters to manually shift gears.
Both engines across all trim levels come in AWD. The three-cylinder engine is rated at 25 mpg in the city and 28 mpg on the highway, while the four-cylinder engine clocks in at 21 mpg in the city and 26 on the highway.
What’s New for 2023?
Ford has added several new features to the 2023 model year of the Bronco Sport, including two special edition trims: the Heritage and Heritage Limited Edition. The Heritage shares the same features list as the Big Bend trim but adds pastel colors and white trim to the exterior. The Heritage Limited Edition has the same aesthetic additions but is based on the Badlands trim, which is focused on adding off-roading functionality.
An additional Black Diamond Off-Road package is now available for the Big Bend and Outer Banks trim levels. This package adds skid plates and 17-inch wheels, as well as some unique exterior styling elements.

Off-Roading Features
The Bronco Sport enjoys five preset driving modes to help tackle adverse conditions on and off the road, referred to as Go Over Any Terrain (GOAT) modes. An available camera provides 180-degree front view vision to help increase visibility when off the beaten path, and available water fording capabilities and other upgrades make taking the Sport into the wilderness a breeze.
Roomy and Comfortable Interior
The Bronco Sport offers a standard 65.2 cubic feet of storage space, which is also designed to be waterproof and thus easily cleaned in a pinch. There’s more than enough room to fit five adults and all their gear within the cabin for a weekend away, and a 60/40 fold-flat second row makes it easier to customize the layout of your cabin based on your passenger and cargo needs.
