Ford Co-Pilot360 is a new suite of safety features designed to keep drivers safer than ever before. These additions work while you drive, providing passive assistance to keep you in control of the vehicle as much as possible. If you’re purchasing a Ford with Co-Pilot360, these are a few of the exciting new technologies awaiting you.

  1. Pre-Collision Assist with Automatic Emergency Braking

The pre-collision system continuously scans the road in front of the vehicle. If another car, pedestrian, or obstacle is detected, you’ll hear an audio cue and see an alert to warn you. If a collision is imminent, the brakes will be applied automatically.

  1. Blind Spot Information System with Cross-Traffic Alert

Blind spot detection is another system that constantly scans the road. But this technology looks to the left and right of the car, alerting you if an object is in your blind spot. This can help with changing lanes on the highway or backing out from your driveway or a parking spot.

  1. Lane-Keeping System

Ford’s Lane-Keeping System is designed to help you stay centered on the road. The vehicle tracks your position between the left and right lanes. If you start to unintentionally drift, you’ll hear and see an alert. If you continue to drift, a coffee cup icon will light up the information display. This is a friendly suggestion that it’s time to stop traveling or switch drivers.

  1. Auto High Beams

Using high beams at night is important, but it can be hard to remember to flick the lights off when other drivers are approaching. Co-Pilot360 handles this for you. When it’s dark enough, the system will activate the high beams. It will then detect oncoming headlights and dim the high beams automatically.

  1. Reverse Brake Assist

Thanks to Co-Pilot360, backing up isn’t as stressful as it used to be. If you’re reversing and an object is behind you, the vehicle will detect the potential hazard and alert you. This system also uses the automatic emergency braking feature. If a collision is likely, the system will apply the brakes for you.

  1. Intelligent Adaptive Cruise Control

Cruise control is a wonderful feature on long drives. But in the past, using this system meant taking a hand off the wheel to continuously reactivate cruise control and resetting your speed whenever you tapped the brakes. Intelligent Adaptive Cruise Control fixes this problem. Once activated, the feature will:

  • Adjust to match speed limit signs
  • Slow the vehicle if there’s traffic ahead
  • Return to your set speed once traffic clears

Co-Pilot360 is available by vehicle as either a standard or optional feature. You can find a selection of the above technologies and more on many new Ford models.

If you have questions or want to see these advanced features in action, check in with Jordan Ford in San Antonio, TX. We can book a test drive and help you pick out a vehicle featuring Ford Co-Pilot360.
