A large family preparing to depart on a trip in their red 2021 Ford Transit Connect Van in San Antonio, TX

Are you bored and looking for things to do in Schertz, TX? The city boasts a diverse tourist attraction base that draws both locals and non-locals. We suggest you try these fun and exciting activities to help beat boredom.

Take a Stroll in Pickrell Park

Located at 701 Oak St., this 17-acre community park is the perfect place for a nature walk. Walking in nature not only makes you fitter but allows you to stimulate your mind as you breathe in fresh air. Consider bringing your dog or family along as this park has something for everyone.

The kids will love playing on the swings, at the basketball court, and in the open spaces. And when you’re not walking your dog, you can bring them for a swim in the outdoor pool, depending on the season.

Visit the Animal World and Snake Farm Zoo

If you’re looking to see and interact with different wild animals up close, make a trip to this zoo, located at 5640 South Interstate 35, New Braunfels. Snakes and other reptile species feature here prominently, but you’ll also encounter lots of gentle and cuddly animals such as the brown lemur, red-ruffed lemur, fennec fox, and more. The zoo is also home to many bird species, including the white-necked raven, toco toucan, rose-breasted cockatoo, and the world’s largest bird, the ostrich.

Often frequented by school kids for its educational value, the Animal World and Snake Farm Zoo also serves as an awesome venue for your birthday parties. Party reservations include unlimited access to the zoo, reserved picnic tables in the party area, animal feed discounts, and a private animal show with your preferred educational animal. Consider this destination for a memorable party experience out in the wild.

Check Out the Birds at Warbler Woods

Want to see birds and wildlife thriving in their natural habitat? If so, then the Warbler Woods Bird Sanctuary is the go-to place. Located at 19349 Old Wiederstein Rd., this nature preserve is home to several hundreds of bird and wildlife species. It sits on a vast 124-acre piece of gated private property with varied habitats and topography. The unpaved but well-maintained trails make it easy to explore the property and see the best it has to offer.

Drive your Ford Escape Active slowly to the parking area at Warbler Woods. The owners don’t charge an entry fee or sell any merchandise. However, they do accept donations and encourage visitors to document sightings at the preserve. This information helps them keep track of bird and wildlife populations. Don’t skip this chance to be part of the local wildlife conservation efforts!

With these fun outdoor activities, you no longer have an excuse to stay inside and get bored out of your mind. Whichever place you decide to visit first, you’re guaranteed great enjoyment. As you plan your visit, be sure to schedule a service appointment at Jordan Ford to avoid vehicle trouble while driving to your chosen destination.
