Explore the Scenic River Walk
If you’d like to explore more of an urban landscape, the San Antonio River Walk provides a total of 15 miles of landscaped walkway alongside the San Antonio River. As you stroll, you’ll pass through some of the city’s most iconic and beautiful areas, with picturesque bridges to cross, excellent restaurants to stop at, vibrant shopping areas, multiple historical markers, and endless wonderful picture-perfect views.
If you grow a little tired at any point along the route, you can climb onto a glass-bottomed boat to enjoy the rest of the journey as a relaxing cruise. You can join the River Walk at most points along the river downtown, but a great place to start your walk is four miles to the north of the city center, where East Hildebrand Avenue crosses the river.
