The Witte Museum
Open since 1926, The Witte Museum is a centerpiece in the San Antonio community. Located along the San Antonio River, this is a museum of nature, science, and culture. In addition to its displays and exhibits, the museum itself has deep historic ties within San Antonio.
Exhibits rotate frequently, so there’s always something new and exciting to experience at. The museum features numerous interactive exhibits including a dinosaur exhibit and a People of the Pecos and Texas Wild exhibit, among other engaging, family-friendly exhibits.

San Antonio Museum of Art
The San Antonio Museum of Art makes its home in what was once the Lone Star Brewery. The museum features art collections from all over the world, with specific collections including art from ancient Greece, Rome, and Egypt. Other exhibits include the Nelson A. Rockefeller Latin American art wing, collections of folk art, contemporary galleries, Texas art collections, and regional art works. The museum also showcases an Asian art wing that features various art works from Korea, India, and Japan.
Additionally, there are numerous themed tours available for individuals and groups of all ages. Tickets for admission can be purchased upon arrival to the museum.

The Alamo
Perhaps the most well-known historical site in Texas, The Alamo, is a popular tourist destination in San Antonio. With its deep historical roots and military significance, it is a family-friendly museum that you’ll want to visit more than once.
The Alamo provides numerous activities for visitors of all ages. Groups may take guided tours to learn about the history of this important structure. There are a variety of unique guided tours available including The Alamo: A Story Bigger Than Texas, Weapons of the Alamo, A Living History Tour, The Young Texans Tour, and a range of audio tours. Tours may be booked online, in advance of your visit.

Spanish Governor’s Palace
The Spanish Governor’s Palace is a one-of-a-kind tourist destination in San Antonio. A National Historic Landmark, this historic site is an 18th century Spanish colonial house and is the only one that remains in Texas today. Accurately named, the house became the home of all the Spanish governors who resided in San Antonio.
The home displays traditional Spanish architecture and design elements and features unique artifacts. As long as the structure still stands, it preserves the history of San Antonio’s beginnings. Tours of the Spanish Governor’s Palace are available so visitors can learn about the history of the home, in addition to uncovering the history of San Antonio.
