2022 Ford Maverick

The 2022 Ford Maverick is available in three trim levels: XL, XLT, and Lariat. This four-door small pickup showcases a lower roofline than most of Ford's other pickups. Standard features on the XL trim include halogen in-bed lighting, black accents, steel wheels, and LED headlights. The mid-level XLT trim adds a power-locking tailgate and alloy wheels. If you opt for the top Lariat trim, your truck will include upgraded accents and a power-sliding rear window. Additional options available on the Maverick include a spray-in bed liner, skid plates, tow hooks, and all-terrain tires. Ford also offers Flexbed, a unique organizational system for the truck's bed. This system is available on all trim levels with options that include storage shelves, adjustable rails, D-rings, and a tool cubby, along with a multi-height tailgate for easier loading and unloading.

If you're an eco-conscious truck buyer, the Maverick's hybrid powertrain will certainly appeal to you. The standard setup includes a 2.5-liter inline-four engine and two electric motors, which produce a combined output of 191 horsepower. If you need a little extra power, you can also opt for a 2.0-liter turbocharged inline-four unit that produces 250 horsepower. This engine is an optional upgrade on all three trim levels.

When you're behind the wheel of the Maverick, you'll be impressed by the quick acceleration and precise steering. The turbocharged engine is especially peppy, taking the truck from zero to 60 mph in just 6.4 seconds. When properly equipped, towing capacity with the standard powertrain is 2,000 pounds. If you opt for the gas-powered engine and add the available towing package, the max capacity increases to 4,000 pounds. The optional towing package bundles an upgraded radiator, a trailer brake controller, a seven-pin prewired trailer controller, and an oil cooling system. A tow/haul mode in the selectable driving mode system also optimizes engine performance and stiffens the steering for safer towing.

Within the cabin of the base XL trim, features include power accessories, cloth upholstery, a tilt-and-telescoping steering wheel, and manual climate control. On the tech side, this model also comes with FordPass Connect, an 8-inch touch screen connected to Ford's SYNC 3 infotainment system, and Apple CarPlay/Android Auto smartphone integration. With the XL trim, upgraded features include a rear central armrest with cup holders and premium cloth upholstery. You can also add all-weather floor mats, a leather-wrapped and heated steering wheel, and heated front seats. Most of these options come standard on the Lariat trim, along with simulated leather upholstery and dual-zone automatic climate control.

All 2022 Maverick trim levels include airbags throughout the cabin, a rearview camera, anti-lock brakes, and traction and stability control. Ford Co-Pilot360 also comes standard across the board. This impressive suite of active driver aids bundles automatic high beams and pre-collision assist with automatic braking.
