California Route 1 models add unique black wheels and trim, a panoramic glass roof, and power-folding mirrors. The Premium trim features LED projector headlights with signature lighting, 19-inch wheels, and a hands-free power liftgate. GT (available late summer 2021) and First Edition models each have their own unique styling cues.
Engine
In Select models with rear-wheel drive, the electric drivetrain delivers 266 horsepower and 317 pound-feet of torque. All-wheel drive (AWD) increases the torque to 428 pound-feet. The California Route 1 is rear-wheel drive only and comes standard with an extended-range battery that provides 290 horsepower and 317 pound-feet of torque. AWD Premium and First Edition models with the available extended-range battery produce 346 horsepower and 428 pound-feet of torque. The AWD GT delivers an awesome 480 horsepower and 600 pound-feet of torque, while the GT Performance Edition ups the torque to 634 pound-feet.
Performance
Depending on the model, a standard or extended range battery is available. The standard pack gives a range of up to 230 miles on rear-wheel-drive models and 211 with AWD. With the extended-range unit, the figures are 300 and 270 miles.
The AWD select trim can accelerate from zero to 60 miles per hour (mph) in 5.2 seconds, while AWD Premium models can hit 60 mph in 4.8 seconds. The thrilling AWD GT will take you to 60 mph in just 3.8 seconds.
