The Power
The Expedition comes with a 3.5-liter turbo V-6 engine that generates 375 horsepower in all trims except the Platinum, where the horsepower gets a boost up to 400. The 2021 Tahoe's base engine is a 5.3-liter V-8 with 365 horsepower. In order to get more power, you need to bump up to the higher-end High Country trim. This model gets a 6.2-liter V-8 with 420 horsepower.
Safety Features
Standard safety features make the Expedition stand out from the Tahoe. All trims come with the Ford Co-Pilot360 suite with lane-keep assist, forward-collision warning, automatic braking, a blind-spot monitor with rear cross-traffic alert, and automatic high beams. With the Tahoe, you get forward collision mitigation and emergency braking with the base LS, but you need to step up a few trims to get a blind-spot monitor and lane-keep assist. Adaptive cruise control is only available for the Tahoe as an option.The Interior
The Expedition's cabin has a more upscale and premium feel, and it comes standard with tech features, even at the base level. All Expeditions have a Wi-Fi hot spot. Just a bump up to the XLT gets you the SYNC 3 infotainment system and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
