Trim Levels (Exterior)

There are three trim levels available for the 2020 Ford Transit Connect Passenger Van: XL, XLT, and Titanium. The back door has a wiper to give you a clear view regardless of the weather. Two sliding doors make it easy for everyone to get in and out of the van. If you anticipate needing additional room for cargo, consider adding the available roof racks with crossbeams to your favorite trim level.

All three vans feature automatic headlights with configurable daytime running lights. The headlights turn on as soon as you turn on your wipers. Auto high-beam headlights are standard on the XLT and Titanium. They are an option on the XL. These lights turn off automatically as you approach another vehicle then turn back on once you've passed.

Engine (Power)

All three vans use the same 2.0-liter GDI inline four-cylinder engine. It pairs with an eight-speed automatic transmission to give you a smooth ride regardless of the road conditions. The 2020 Ford Transit Connect Passenger Van has a 15.8-gallon fuel tank. If you are considering a flex-fuel vehicle, you can have the flex-fuel capability added as an option.

If you are planning to buy the fleet version of the XL, the engine is a 2.5-liter iVCT inline four-cylinder engine, which is paired with a six-speed automatic transmission.

Performance

There are a few different features in the Transit Connect that help with fuel mileage and engine performance, such as the auto start-stop technology. Once you engage this feature, the engine automatically shuts off when you put your foot on the brakes. It refires when you take your foot off the brake. You can also set the vehicle in Eco Mode to save fuel in heavy traffic.

If you have the Fleet version of the XL, you can have an Engine Governor placed in the vehicle. You'll have the option of limiting the vehicle's speed to 65 mph or 75 mph.

Interior

As soon as you step inside the van, you'll notice a flexible vehicle ready for anything. You can adjust the seats to fit six or seven comfortably. The low loading cargo floor allows you to get your cargo in with less effort. If you fold down the second-row seats, you have a cargo capacity of 106 cubic feet on the long-wheelbase models.

In terms of technology, leave your charging cords at home and enjoy the wireless charger that is standard in the XLT and Titanium. It's an available option for the XL. Your Sync 3 infotainment center works with both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

Safety Features

Your new 2020 Ford Transit Connect Passenger Van features rain-sensing windshield wipers, which engage automatically as soon as the glass gets wet. The standard side-wind stabilization helps keep the vehicle centered during strong winds. It works with the roll stability control system to help avoid skids and potential rollovers if you hit wet conditions.
