More About the New Ford F-150

Defined by rugged capability, a powerful engine, and the kind of advanced comfort and convenience features that will take your driving experience to the next level, the Ford F-150 is ready to go to work for you, with up to a 12,200 pound towing capacity, 3,270 pound max payload, and a military-grade aluminum body that reduces body weight by up to 700 pounds.

Just how hard does the F-150 work? It features one of four engines under the hood, and each one brings a little something different to the table. A 3.5-liter V6 282 horsepower and 253 pound-feet of torque, achieving up to 18 mpg city and 25 mpg highway. Meanwhile, a more capable 2.7-liter EcoBoost engine offers 325 horsepower and 375 pound-feet of torque, while achieving an even more impressive 19 mpg city and 26 mpg highway. Stepping up to the 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6 brings big gains to performance with 365 horsepower and 420 pound-feet of torque, while still reaching up to 17 mpg city and 24 mpg highway. Finally, the top-tier 5.0-liter V8 engine steps things up to 385 horsepower and 387 pound-feet of torque, with a fuel economy rating of up to 15 mpg city and 22 mpg highway.

In terms of space, both interior and exterior, the Ford F-150 can be configured with three different cabs and boxes in order to make sure that you're choosing the pickup truck that will meet your specific requirements. The regular Cab features seating for three, while the SuperCab features seating up six. When you want more interior room for everyone, though, the full four-door SuperCrew provides maximum space so everyone can ride comfortable. Meanwhile, available bed lengths measure in at 5.5, 6.5, and 8 feet.

Of course, the Ford F-150 has always been known as an innovator within the full-size pickup truck segment, and the 2016 model is no exception to the rule. For the first time ever within its class, the Ford F-150 is available with a new Pro Trailer Backup Assist system. This advanced suite of technology features a knob that you can rotate right or left in order to manually turn your trailer when backing up. Meanwhile, an advanced rearview camera helps guide you around obstacles. It's just one more way that Ford is helping you work smarter, not harder.
